Dollarama Dazzle

Dollarama. Canada’s best kept secret. Although the bigger they get, the harder it is to snag deals before they sell out! They have been bringing the Beauty Department game, hard! They have been stocking cult favorites like Maybelline, Revlon, Nivea, EOS, Axe, E.L.F, etc., and luxury brands like Bella Pierre, Essie, OPI, and Sephora.

I constantly stalk the aisles and pick up all the goodies along the way. My recent haul was a pretty great one. I finally got my hands on the Chap Ice Lip Spheres Trio that I had my eyes on a few weeks ago. And then some …

Chap Ice Lip Spheres Trio
Retail: $3 CAD

Revlon Photo Ready Kajal Pencils (in Purple Reign, Carbon Cleopatra, Blue Nile)
Retail: $10.99 CAD
Steal: $3 CAD

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara (in Blue Blaze)
Retail: $9.99 CAD
Steal: $3 CAD

The first thing I want to talk about is the Chap Ice. These are UNREAL!! Put down the EOS and go get these! They smell AH-MAZE-ING. They taste AH-MAZE-ING. They are smaller but that isn’t a bad thing. The EOS sphere can be difficult to fit in small spaces, these Chap Ice are much more tiny space friendly! And you get all three for the price of one EOS.

The trio includes strawberry (pink), cherry (red), and watermelon (green). It’s a toss up between cherry and watermelon for my favorite, but honestly, they are all so good. I have nearly finished two of the three already!!

Seriously. I am already addicted to these. It’s a problem. I admit it. I have a back up, of my back up. I can’t stress how badly you need these in your life. Great for work, school, the car (except in the heat), your purse, the kitchen drawer, beside the bed, ahhhhhhh!! You get it. I’m obsessed.

My next LOVE! These Revlon Photo Ready Kajal Pencils! They are dual sided and gorgeous. They come with an eye liner and an eye brightener. I love multi use products. Simplify!! Travel! On the go!!

I love that the eye brightener shades are all different. Light colored liners are hard to come by. This was the main reason I got three of these pencils, for the variety of the brighteners.

These pencils are so creamy. And I was suprised by how pigmented they were. I don’t normally take swatch photos, but one was necessary for these babies. They also are safe for use on the inner lid (waterline). This line was inspired by Egyptian makeup trends, hence the bold colors and contrast. The combo selections are also noteable. Each duo compliments each other very well.

*Left to right: Carbon Cleopatra, Purple Reign, Blue Nile

I might have to go back and get the last pencil in the collection, Emerald Empire. Just because I was so thrilled with these pencils!!

Lastly, I grabbed a tube of Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara in Blue Blaze. I do not wear colored mascara, but for $3 this tube will last until a special occasion reveals itself with a need for this little doll. I have used Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal in Classic Black, and enjoyed the formula. It gave me mega volume and was great for low key makeup days. I prefer more drama and length in my mascara for Saturday night. But for a no fuss product or a fun shade, this mascara will be a great fit!!

Another great Dollarama Haul!!! If you are heading out to grab a few of these steals, keep your eye out for the Bella Pierre Cosmetics Look Kits! They retail for $50 CAD and are selling for $3 CAD. I’m on the hunt for them myself!!  ♡♡

Getting Real with Rexall

I recently went to Rexall, for the FIRST time, as I had heard that they carried NYX products and I was still trying to hunt down the pencil liners and Butter Balms. I was successful in finding the liners (and on sale!) but still no luck in finding the Butter Balms (Click Here to find out where I finally found them!).

NYX Lip Liner (in Nude Beige and Hot Red)
Retail: $4.99 CAD
Steal: $3.99 CAD

I’m super impressed with these liners (which is proving that I might have an NYX infection, addiction, obsession). I own so many pink and wine colored liners that I was looking for a true red and a nice nuetral nude. After swatching a few shades, I finally settled on these two. The colors are pigmented and the liner glides on so smoothly (doesn’t pull on the lip at all). The staying power is great! The line stays even when I find myself needing to reapply my lipstick after a few hours.

But my post doesn’t end here, how could it? You should expect more from me by now. I found the clearance counter, the glorious display with all of the remaining Christmas gift sets. Oh shit. Oh yay!

KIT 3 Pack Blender Sponges
Retail: $12.99 CAD
Steal: $8.46 CAD

Some sponges. My dog thought my first one (Quo) was the most delightful new toy. It went missing after my first use (I left it out to dry on my makeup table). I finally found it under the bed with a nice chunk missing out of the top … now it was useless for anything other than a chew toy hahahaha (not really, it went in the trash). So anyways, that brings me to this purchase! 3 sponges of various sizes and shapes from KIT Beauty. I have never heard of this brand before so I’m thinking it is Rexall’s own beauty brand. The sponges feel soft and smooth, so far I have only used them to apply BB cream and blend my bronzer, but they worked wonders!!

Be Delectable by Cake Beauty EOS Hand and Lip Set
Value: $16.99 CAD
Retail: $14.99 CAD
Steal: $11.26 CAD

I love Cake products! I was quite upset when Sephora stopped selling them because I didn’t know where else to buy them, other than online. The scent of every product has always been so beyond delicious. I was thrilled to find a discounted holiday set that included my favorite EOS lip sphere of all time (sweet mint). This duo contains a hand cream in Strawberry and Cream, that I plan to use as an ultra nourishing body cream instead.

Nivea Personal Care Set
Value: $25 CAD
Retail: $14.99 CAD
Steal: $7.96 CAD

I love Nivea products!! They have always been my favorite drug store brand skincare line. I find the products are of good quality, for a budget friendly price. Nivea was a saviour during my years at university, the Nivea Soft Cream being my go-to facial moisturizer! I was thrilled to find this Nivea gift set for under $8 CAD. The set includes, Nivea Creme Care Shower Cream, Nivea Body Milk, Nivea Smooth Replenishing Hand Cream, and Nivea Invisible Anti Perspirant. The bag is just a bonus, plus it’s huge!!!

My first experience at Rexall was a successful one!! I definitely will have to visit again. But until then, it’s been real!! #peaceout ♡

Soul Sister

Thanks to the wonderful world of blogging, I swear, I have met my soul sister. Basically, she’s the brunette to my blonde ♡. Let me tell you all about Janet, from Jan and Jot. This woman is beyond talented, not to mention gorgeous. And so crafty, she makes the cutest things! Janet sent me the most amazing early birthday gift (seriously, how sweet is that?). If you could put “me” in a box of goodies, she nailed it. Pink, EOS, shoes, leopard, Paris, lipgloss …

And she MADE the keychain. I’m trying to tell her she should sell them because, OMG how freaking cute is this? Tell me you wouldn’t die for one of these?

I’m almost scared to use it because it is so nice! You should check out her blog. It’s the perfect mix of lifestyle and beauty posts that she writes with her other half, Josie. I love reading all of their posts, especially because they each add a special personality to their blog. Go follow them now, you won’t be disappointed (janandjot or click the link above)!! And Janet, thank you my dear ♡ you made my birthday so special already!

Ray of Sunshine

EOS has released their holiday collection. Just in time for the winter snow, the collection is appropriately named “A Ray of Holiday Sunshine“. The limited editions were inspired by fashion designer, Rachel Roy. I own basically every EOS, and was excited to get my hands on these ones. Of course both the single and trio sets are already sold out online. But you might still find them at Shopper’s Drug Mart or London Drugs (if you hurry!).

I picked up the Limited Edition Trio (still searching for the single, myself!!) and it might just be my favorite set from EOS ever!! And quite possibly some of the best scents released (although Vanilla Mint is still my favorite!).

Inspired by travel and the warm sun, this limited edition eos Smooth Sphere lip balm flavor trio was inspired by fashion designer Rachel Roy. Each pack includes brand-new, limited edition flavors Indian Summer Orange Blossom, Aloha Hawaii Strawberry Kiwi, and St. Barth’s Sunrise Pink Grapefruit. USDA-certified organic and 100% natural with a special design on each lip balm, this collection is sure to keep you smiling all season long. Makes a great holiday gift or stocking stuffer.

All three of the balms have an amazing fruity scent, and it is hard to pick a favorite, but the Strawberry Kiwi might take the cake for me!

The single limited edition balm is Barbados Heat Wildberry. I’m really hoping to track this one down, because if the scent is anything like the other three, then I’m already in love!! ♡
