This Urban Decay Little Perversions set was on my Holiday Wishlist. My amazing boyfriend got it for me (for $55 CAD). This set is now only $20.80 CAD ($26 CAD plus the 20% off)! That’s nearly $35 CAD saved to put towards MORE makeup! I couldn’t help myself I had to purchase another one (plus the mini Perversion mascara is perfect to save as a spare for my Naked on the Run palette). Click Here to grab yours before they are gone!

There are so many great things on sale right now and that extra 20% off goes a long way. Don’t get discouraged if something you see suddenly goes out of stock, they often will end up releasing more. The UD set was sold out by the time I went to checkout. I waited a few minutes and refreshed a few times, and it was available again. It was completely out of stock yesterday, but I see more have been released today! There are so many great items on sale I’m sure you are bound to find something fun!

Bananas For Boxing Day

I went crazy! CRAZY for Boxing Day this year. I can’t wait to share all my goodies with you, but first I had to let you know about a few of the specials at Sephora.
image
In the past, Sephora has offered their $12 CAD Favorites on Boxing Day, but this year they switched it up by offering a variety of products at different price points (including many sets priced between $12 CAD and $14 CAD). In addition to my online order, I stopped by in store. I was so glad I did, because they had additional sets on sale that were NOT listed online (including a Smashbox essentials trio set!). Happy Shopping my lovelies. I can’t wait to see what you purchased! Click Here to see the Sephora sale first hand!

Oops I Did It Again

I couldn’t help myself. I had to go back and get the light NYX Butter Lipsticks set “True Love“. For only $11.24 CAD I just couldn’t pass it up ($26.97 CAD value).

I loved the The Balm Shady Lady Volume 3 palette that I picked up, so I did some research into the other three volumes. I was thrilled to learn that the original Shady Lady palette was also on sale for only $14.99 CAD (retail $44 CAD) at London Drugs! There was only ONE left in my city, but luckily it wasn’t too far away.

image

The Butter Lipsticks are much lighter than any colors I own. They are perfect for an array of daytime makeup looks, for a night out however, I prefer something much more bold. The set includes the shades Snow Cap, Candy Buttons, and Taffy.

image

I love that the Shady Lady (Volume 1) palette is leopard print! I’m a sucker for animal print in general, but leopard is just that cherry on top. This palette has a few more neutral shades compared to the Volume 3, which I’m super excited about. The colorful shades will compliment and work well with the colors in the Volume 3 palette!

image

These shadows are just as pigmented as the other The Balm shadows that I have tried. They are very buildable and fallout is minimal. I’m so happy I decided to pick this one up as well.

Here is a comparison of the Shady Lady Volume 1 (left) and Shady Lady Volume 3 (right).

image

Right now London Drugs has discount on almost all of their holiday sets and luxury cosmetics (including $20 CAD off any $100 CAD luxury cosmetics purchase). This includes the Shady Lady Volume 2 palette at $35.20 CAD. I have yet to track down the Shady Lady Volume 4  palette. It is mainly a neutral palette and that is a must have!!! Maybe it isn’t available anymore?!

Are you taking advantage of holiday sets? Have you found any amazing deals?

Biotherm Brilliance

The dry winter weather! I can’t even. Haha. Everyone needs a good moisturizer (yes, everyone). I’m completely out of my Nivea Soft moisturizer and nearly out of my Boscia Intensifying Moisturizer.

Nivea was my go-to moisturizer during University. It is hydrating, makes my skin feel amazing, and at $12.99 CAD, is super budget friendly! I completely lucked out with my Boscia and purchased a full size for $12 CAD during the legendary Favorites Sale from Sephora. The Boscia was so moisturizing and could even be used as a mask! I used it sparingly, only on days when the thirst was real when I really, really needed it. I used my Nivea daily, and everytime after washing my face.

I desperately needed some new face cream, and figured for winter, I could start using the Boscia daily (yay for graduating and having a big girl job). I was so disappointed to learn that they no longer make this face cream!! As much as I loved my Nivea, I feel like it’s time to invest in higher quantity products. When I was a teen and lived at home, my mom used to give me all of her minis of her Biotherm products. I loved them and honestly, I believe they had a huge impact on why I had and continue to have great skin. The Aquasource line specifically became my favorite. It only seemed logical that I should return to my roots. Biotherm now carries an Aquasource Deep Serum, which is perfect for that extra hydration I was looking for!

While I was at London Drugs splurging on NYX sets and The Balm beauties, I took a peek at the Biotherm Holiday Sets. Of course I did. Lucky me! They had a Deep Hydration Gift Set! The set retails for $60 CAD and comes with a full size Aquasource Deep Serum, mini Aquasource 48+ Deep Hydration Replenishing Gel, mini Biosource Total and Instant Cleansing Micellar Water, and Aquasource 360 Hydra-massager for Eyes.

image

The only item I have tried in this set is the Aquasource Deep Hydration Replenishing Gel, and it was my FAVORITE product in the line. I’m expecting this Deep Serum to be even more amazing! The Aquasource Deep Serum retails for $60 CAD alone, so it is worth picking up the set for the extras!

But of course, that’s not all. For spending over $38 CAD, I also got a free gift with purchase! This set included an adorable and MASSIVE cosmetic bag. It reminded me of summer, so it probably will be my new beach bag throw in! It has a woven feel and is super colorful!

This set includes a cosmetic bag, mini Aquasource 48+ Deep Hydration Replenishing Gel, mini Aquasource Deep Serum, mini Aquasource Nuit High Density Hydrating Jelly, and sample of Lait Corporel Anti Drying Body Milk.

I paid for the Full size bottle of the Aquasource Deep Serum ($60 CAD), and got all these minis for free. It really goes to show what a little beauty investigating can do!! I’m really excited to have two mini jars of the original Aquasource moisturizer because they will be great on days that I don’t need as much hydration, and also for the mini Deep Serum for travel or gym!!

TGIF Bitches ♡

Drugstore Daydream

Can I really call myself a makeup junkie if I just recently learned about brands like NYX and The Balm? Thanks to ipsy and Topbox for the introductions, it was the beginning of a hot and heavy love affair. I’ll be honest, I am a makeup snob. When I want to try a new product, I head straight to the closest Sephora, not the makeup aisle of the drug store. I mean, I wasn’t always like this. In junior high school my makeup obsession began with Lip Smackers. By high school I was fluent in the language of Maybelline and Loreal. Once I graduated and started making decent money, I stepped my makeup game up and became a permanent member of the Sephora cult. And I haven’t looked back, at least until beauty subscriptions started introducing me to new, high quality, “drugstore” brands!

First, I received a sample of The Balm Cosmetics How ‘Bout Them Apples Lip and Cheek Cream Palette in my October Topbox. I received the shade “Pie” and loved it (more for my lips than my cheeks though)!! This led me on the hunt to find some more The Balm products. I finally found them at London Drugs, and picked up a plumping lipgloss, Plump My Pucker in Spike My Punch that was 50% off! Once again, I was impressed and mentally added The Balm to my list of brands to love. The price of The Balm products is not actually that cheap. It might be a “drugstore brand” but at $45+ CAD for palettes, $20 CAD for a lipgloss, $30 CAD for a bronzer, etc. this beauty line is more luxury than budget.

Second, I recently received a full size of NYX Butter Balm in Red Velvet in my December ipsy glambag. I was instantly hooked and had to track down more! Again, London Drugs came to my rescue (I guess I should stop in more often!). The Butter Balms are actually back ordered here in Canada so I was unable to pick up a few more shades, but I was able to fall madly love with the NYX Butter Lipsticks!

While I was at London Drugs, I also checked out The Balm display and was delighted to find a ton of goodies on sale, including different shades of the Plump My Pucker lipgloss and some other amazing steals. Needless to say, my quick stop turned into a bit of a haul:

image

NYX had a ton of holiday gift sets available. And we all know I love holiday sets!! Especially since they are such a great deal!! They had a huge selection of sets with different shades and different products. I picked up a trio of the Butter Lipsticks.

image

This set in “Bombshell” included 3 full size Butter Lipsticks in the shades Licorice, Pops, and Big Cherry. This set retails for $14.99 CAD, such a great deal considering these lipsticks retail for $8.99 CAD each. But it gets even sweeter, because right now these sets are an additional 25% off, pricing the set at ONLY $11.24 CAD! I am so surprised by these lipsticks. They are true color in only one swipe. So pigmented. So creamy. So buttery!!

image

I’m actually thrilled with these lipsticks and might have to pick up the lighter trio “True Love” just because they really are that amazing.

Next up, I grabbed another The Balm Plump Your Pucker lipgloss in Water My Melons. This shade looks so similar to my other one, but it actually isn’t. This one is pink wih hints of shimmer (versus the non shimmer red of Spike My Punch).

image

This gloss retails for $20 CAD but was on sale for $9.99 CAD! I love that this gloss isn’t sticky and has just the perfect amount of tingling!

I also snagged this The Balm Shady Lady (Volume 3) eyeshadow palette for only $14.99 CAD (retails for $44 CAD). That’s nearly 70% off!!

image

The outside packaging is super cute, all four volumes of the Shady Lady line have animal print cases! What I loved about this palette is that it has alot of shades that I don’t already own. I gravitate towards nuetrals, and have very few colored shades. For $14.99 CAD, this was the perfect opportunity to add some bolder, more colorful shades to my makeup routine.

image

All of these shades were highly pigmented! Again, I was so surprised. They are not at all chalky and didn’t have a ton of fallout. Most of the shades also have an option to be used as an eyeliner. I’m excited to own such a vibrant colorful palette!

Last but not least, I got two free samples of ROC Pro Define Anti Sagging Firming Fluid. Because I am turning 27 after all! Haha!

Happy Friday Loves! If you need some last minute gifts I suggest you hurry hard and make your way to the nearest London Drugs for some fabulous beauty finds. ♡

Thinking About Me …

My favorite thing to see in the mail, a hot pink, shiny mailer (so glad the matte pink bag from last month was only temporary)! This month, ipsy’s thoughts were all about me!! Or at least it felt that way, what an awesome bag I received this month!

image

Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that sends 4-5 personalized beauty items right to your door. Sometimes they send full size products and sometimes sample size, it’s always a nice mix. They also send a variety of high end products (Urban Decay, Tarte, Bare Minerals, etc.) and as well as some higher quality drug store products (like NYX, Cailyn, etc.). The items come in cute makeup bag with a monthly theme! The price is only $10 USD a month with FREE shipping to US residents ($5 USD shipping to Canada – making the Canadian total around $17 CAD).

I will stalk the post’s tracking website and will squeal with delight when I see that my goodie bag has been delivered. I always peek at my bag early and I was extra excited to get all of my beauty items this month.

image

The bag! Cute, black, lined and with an adorable ipsy heart keychain/zipper pull. This is probably my favorite bag from ipsy yet!

What I got in my December Glam Bag:

1. Cailyn Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish in Orchid – I love loose pigments so I was very excited to try this. The powder itself is pigmented and very shimmery. A perfect light shadow to use as a base on my lids before applying some of my other darker, loose pigments or to use as an inner eye/brow highlight. The sponge tip is nothing special, it’s a little on the hard side (versus my Bare Minerals High Shine Eye Color applicator which is a soft spongy dream). I love this style of dispensing product because it creates minimal mess, which is perfect for people who have trouble working with loose pigments in the traditional jar packaging.

2. Coolway Boost Repair Treatment – The perfect treatment for dry, thirsty, winter hair! Who doesn’t love a good hydrating hair treatment?

3. Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush – I was so excited for this brush! I was quite disappointed when I didn’t get this brush the first time it made an appearance in September’s Glam Bag. Eye brushes are definitely an obsession of mine, I’m always looking for my next favorite. This brush has super soft bristles, and I love that it is double sided with a precise crease brush. I plan to use this with my Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette.

4. NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet – This has been a great introduction to NYX products. The balm is buttery and smooth with the perfect hint of color, and it smells awesome. I received this in the shade Red Velvet (a pure red) and I am delighted. Ipsy continues to read my mind, they constantly send me the shades I prefer the most time and time again.

5. Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara – My first mascara from ipsy, FINALLY, and it’s a great one. I already know and love this mascara. Thank you ipsy for sending such a great brand!

This might be my favorite bag from ipsy yet! They continue to impress me, month after month. Are you loving your ipsy bag this month? Not signed up yet? Click Here to get your own bag. Still not convinced? Click Here to see last month’s bag.
