Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween all my lovelies! I just love Halloween. From spooky manicures, to scary movies, and sexy costumes. I love it all!! Last year we threw a HUGE Halloween bash, but this year we decided to keep it low key with some pumpkin carving, pumpkin seed roasting, horror movies, and maybe even visiting a Haunted House! Here a few of my must haves for tonight:

1) Halloween Claws (that I did myself …)

2) A killer pumpkin seed receipe (Click Here)

3) Sexy cool makeup to match my cute costume (if only I was this talented!)

4) A yummy cocktail (or two)

5) A classic for background noise

Sally Beauty

I had a 15% off my entire purchase coupon to use up before the end of the month. If you are a Sally Beauty Club Card member, then you get sent a coupon every time you spend $35 CAD total in a month. Even if you shopped sales (like me), over a 30/31 day  period, you will still qualify to receive a coupon for 15% off your next purchase. The brilliant thing is that the coupon can be used in addition to current sales. That all basically means, that today was a GREAT shopping day for me. I needed wanted some new gel polish. Orly JUST released their new Gel FX line and I was dying to get my claws on it. And wouldn’t you know it, this weekend they introduced some Halloween mani deals (sale until October 31/14)!

BB Babe

BB Cream. CC Cream. DD’s. Oops. That’s me. But seriously, these revolutionary creams are ALL the rage! I have been blessed with a booty, big lips, blonde hair, naturally great skin, so I have never worn foundation (except under the lights during all those years of competitive dancing! ). I’m not into pressed powders, layers, or cakey face PAINT. But I will admit to LOVING a good tinted moisturizer with SPF. Perfect for days where you want to go makeup free or for a good base before applying your glamorous face. I hadn’t caught on to the BB cream trend until June. I KNOW! Had I been living under a rock? I mean, I had heard about them, I just never gave them a second thought. But I have ipsy to thank for the introduction. They sent me a sample of Derma E BB Cream and I LOVED it. I mean a reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kinda love. I have picked up a few other samples here and there, but I am running at the tail end of them now.

Biotherm was the first skin care line I started using as preteen. The Aquasource/Biosource line quickly became my go to, even now into my mid twenties. Biotherm now has their very own Aquasource BB Cream. I obviously needed to get my hands on it! The cream retails for $37 CAD (very similar price point to Smashbox, Nars, Benefit etc. BB’s creams). I was extra excited to discover that at London Drugs, you get a FREE bag of Biotherm goodies with any $30 CAD Biotherm purchase!

image

This BB Cream has 7 benefits, it:
– Hydrates up to 5 layers
– Evens
– Illuminates
– Corrects
– Smoothes
– Protects (SPF 15)
– Perfects

The feel is lightweight and it has awesome coverage!! I’m so happy that Aquasource has it’s own BB Cream! And even more happy that I got all of these goodies for FREE (in a super cute pink, positive bag … a reminder to keep smiling?).

image

Free products included:
– Aquasource 48hr Deep Hydration Replenishing Gel
– Biosource Fresh Foam Hydra-Toning Cleanser
– Biosource Instahydration Toning Lotion
– Biomains Age Delaying Hand and Nail Treatment
– Skin-Best Serum in Cream
– Cute Bag!

I’m not sure how long the promo is going to be offered, so hurry your cute ass to the store!! ♡

Beauty Binge

I feel all of my posts lately have been about beauty products!! Clearly, I’m going through an obsession!! Hopefully it stops soon (jk, I hope it never does!!). Given my latest Sephora escapade, I wanted to look at a few of my favorite things from my orders! I have already raved about the Pulp Fiction palette, and now I want to gush about all these luscious lippies! ♡

I introduce you to the Buxom Serial Kisser Box Set of 5 mini Full-Bodied Lipsticks! Pucker up!!

image

The “minis” are a very generous size, more like half size and I love them! You can change up your look and indulge in trend shades without breaking the bank for full size products you will probably only use half of anyways. But, you know I’m biased, and love minis & travel sized goodies!

image

These lipsticks are smooth and creamy, super pigmented, hydrating, and plumping (without tingle effect). Shades included are Centerfold, Menace, Mistress, Provocateur, & Moonlighter. Loving them all, seriously! Which shade do you like?

This set retails at $38 CAD, I scored it for $28 CAD! Sephora, doing me happy 🙂

Sephora Splurge

I have been waiting to write this post for FOREVER, it seems. But it took over three orders, a holiday weekend, three phone calls to customer service, one in store visit, and a delay with Canada Post, before I finally got all my products (undamaged). My initial order had NO bubble wrap or paper, allowing a baked eyeshadow palette to break and leak all over everything – so FRUSTRATING!! But, Sephora’s customer service was on point. I returned the damaged products in store, and customer service sent me a new order with replacement products. The reps were super apologetic and in the end it worked out brilliantly. I got another round of free samples (3 per order) and free gift with purchase on my replacement order, as well as 100 bonus points for the inconvenience. But enough background, let’s get down to the nitty gritty of my haul!

No. You are not seeing things. My free haul really IS that big!!!

Because I Needed Nyquil

My world this weekend existed of my couch and my bed. And social media.

Social media = tolerable flu/cold

Anyways, my boyfriend was amazing, getting me soup, juice, and basically anything I needed, ALL weekend my knight in shining armour! But there comes a time when you just need to, have to, must get out of the house. Cold meds running dangerously low, I drove painfully slow to the neighborhood Shoppers Drug Mart. And guess what? It was a BONUS POINT event, 18 500 extra bonus points when you spent $75 CAD on anything in the store (that’s about $25 CAD in points to redeem for merchandise). I was there for Nyquil, but I also really needed some new makeup brushes. Nyquil. But OMG! The Quo Holiday Collection was just released. And the table was right by the front door. Like, as soon as you walk in. Okay long story short, I got a brush set. Or two brush sets. And a mini eyeshadow palette. Oops. Double oops.

image

This 10 piece brush set comes with a roll case in pink and black! Brushes are black and gold. Brushes included are Powder, Blush, Foundation, Concealer, Lip, Liner/Brow, Crease Blender, All Over Shadow, Definer Shadow and Shadow Smudger. This set was $45 CAD! These brushes were identical to the Master Brush Set ($60 CAD), but are considered “travel” because they have shorter handles. I actually prefer them over the longer ones & love that they are $15 cheaper! This set is such a score, buying these brushes individually would be substantially more $$$.

For $25 CAD, I also scored this matching travel brush set. I have a similar Quo set, that I have had for years (like 10+), and I LOVE the crease brush. It’s wider than the traditional Quo crease brush. Brushes included are blush, foundation and 3 double-ended eye shadow brushes. LOVE!! These brushes are true travel size, with the brushes being the smallest of the sets.

That brings my total to $70 CAD. I grabbed this $5 CAD mini palette to bring my total to $75 CAD and my total points earned to 19 250! This palette is perfect for travel, my gym bag, or my purse! Definitely a steal! I love Quo eyeshadows, lots of pigment & long lasting. Think mini Naked palette!!

image

Quo Holiday Collection is always an amazing deal. You can pick up 10 brushes & a case for the price of 3 or 4 regular Quo brushes. Or you could grab a cute manicure set or a sexy face palette. You just can’t beat those bonus points AND you know you can always count on Quo quality #FYB!

Ohhh, and I also got some Nyquil …

Topbox is Top Box

A weekend full of posts! I know you can’t get enough of me!! I got my Topbox this week, Canada Post must love me, and I am just as impressed as I was last month (my first box). They are quickly proving that they live up to their name. Topbox is a Canadian company (finally!) that sends 4 beauty products, in a cute little tube, right to your door. Shipping is FREE! The subscription is $12 CAD a month (Canada only, sorry US babes). Topbox is unique in that it allows you to create a wishlist of “Prive Boxes” that you can request (and may or may not receive, it’s always random, & a surprise until the box arrives). The Prive Boxes are much more specific about brands and items inside, while the regular topbox could be a combo of anything!

I find ipsy is more makeup based. Topbox has a 50/50 split of skincare and makeup. I really enjoy getting both subscriptions for a nice range of products & brands.

Both months that I have been subscribed, I opted for the regular box and didn’t set any wishlist items. I have seen some pretty awesome past Prive Boxes online (Kerastase Bain Satin Shampoo & Kerastase Lait Vital Conditioner, anyone? Five deluxe Benefit samples including They’re Real mascara and liner?), but none of the current ones have caught my eye. Doesn’t matter though, the regular boxes have been pretty damn good to me! In addition to the monthly subscription, Topbox will periodically offer a $10 CAD beauty add-on. This was the first month that I was able to participate. I have heard of people getting $150+ items! I’m boobsandblonde, of course I opted in!

This month’s haul:

image

1. Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II: This cream claims to help with dark circles and fine lines. I could feel a warming effect immediately after applying. The price on this sample is $25 CAD/5ml, this alone makes Topbox worth every penny. I’m excited to see if this cream lives up to the hype!
2. The Balm Cosmetics How ‘Bout Them Apples Lip and Cheek Cream Palette (Pie): Tiny little sample, in the CUTEST packaging! Perfect for throw and go! Love the color! Happy to use this (although I feel my lips will steal most of the action).
3. Prestige Cosmetics Magic Pen (Clear): This is just the most peculiar thing. It’s a waterproof primer, for basically ANYTHING. You can use it to prep lids to hold eyeshadow (and also make it waterproof), turn eyeshadow into liner, line lips to prevent lipstick bleed (for any shade!), or even make a temporary tattoo. I’m loving this product and I definitely don’t own anything like it!
4. Indigena SkinCare Blueberry Bliss Sugar Scrub: Made and crafted in Newfoundland, this scrub is organic and all natural! Love the smell. Love the feel. Love how the jar is stuffed to the brim. Just love this product!

My beauty add-on this month, was Soft As Sin Cream Blush from European makeup brand, Teeez Cosmetics.

image

The color I received was Beach Glow Brown. First impressions, super cute packaging, but BROWN blush on my fair complexion? Yuck! As it turns out, first impressions aren’t everything, at least not in the makeup world! When swatched this blush was a beautiful bronze pink. I think I will have lots of fun with this blush! Retail on this sinner? $37 CAD! Another great score from Topbox!

Topbox you’re stroking my happy spot … keep the goodies coming! Click Here to see last month’s box. Do you get Topbox? What are your thoughts, are you loving it or leaving it?

I Have No Words …

Having a hangover Sunday? Maybe your couch bound (like me) with an awful autumn cold? Or maybe you’re just neglecting chores to relax and watch a Sunday movie. Whatever you’re doing, here is a little something to make you stop and question the world. Just kidding. It’s hilariously disturbing.
